Tracking at the macro level is all very well for identifying trends and whole areas for improvement, but it’s not until you reach down to individual children that your teaching starts to make a real difference.
Know Your Pupils, Holistically
Knowing your pupils is more than just remembering what their Maths and English levels are. It’s about understanding how they tick – what sparks their interest? What have other teachers found out about them (even from previous schools)? How is their behaviour? Are they persistently late?
