We know that a condensed, easy-to-read way of displaying your schools data is important, helping to speed up the process of analysing data at a glance. However, the devil is in the detail and Pupil Asset has a developed a number of ways to quickly show you the bigger picture; the pupil behind the data.
Fundamental to this is the Pupil Profile, which allows you to gain an understanding of certain details affecting an individual pupil, such as their overall attendance figures, their family background, current attainment and progress data. If they have a Court Order against a family member logged in Pupil Asset, or if they come under the Child Protection Policy then that will also be clearly displayed.
This is a useful feature for safeguarding purposes and poses a good starting point for other analysis.
The Pupil Profile puts all the necessary safeguarding information in one place, for example with Pupil Logs.
Pertinent information can be logged in Pupil Asset, forming an audit trail to keep tabs of past instances, who they were reported to and when, as well as what action has been taken as a result.
This is a useful resource which can be used to cross-reference records from other parts of the system that relate to that incident. For example, the Messaging tab can be used to analyse what communication, if any, was made to the pupil’s family or carers, and at what point that was made.
For SMS text messages or emails sent through Pupil Asset, there is a reference created against each pupil whose contact(s) were sent messages. This provides evidence of action taken by staff and can be analysed in conjunction with Attendance.
Attendance can be used to spot patterns; when, or how often pupils are absent from school, and for what given reason. Pupil Asset shows a full herringbone report for in-depth analysis featuring a more concise Code Breakdown, Absence Notes and attendance statistics for each day of the week. All this, when combined with Messaging and Pupil Logs gives schools the power quickly scan the information at their fingertips to make the correct decision, based on evidence.
Progress and Results analysis is another area where Pupil Asset helps to characterise pupil data and inform the decision-making process. The results page allows users to filter down to certain cohorts and take an average across each group in every assessment checkpoint and is also shown in the progress section. Thus, data from these pages can be used to plan the use of schools’ ever-more finite resources and interventions – the success of which can be judged from further use of the Progress section.
Intuitively organised and quickly accessible, these are five simple ways in which Pupil Asset allows you to see the pupil behind the data. Bringing personalised information to the fore, allowing schools to assess specific situations, make informed decisions and, ultimately, take the correct course of action with regard to safeguarding and management of time and resources.
